Hannah's main skill is being cute. :-) She is also very creative and loves to play with kids of all ages. She is well behaved and can be trusted to only go where she is allowed. A cute example - While at the Diamond T Guest Ranch, Hannah was told to not ride her bike past the horse's Round Pen. Rich was doing some work a hundred yards past that when he discovered some really cool mushrooms he wanted her to see. He called for her to come and see them. She had a moment of conflict - how to obey Dad - without disobeying Dad. Rich was blessed to see her park her bike at the Round Pen and run the hundred yards to him! :-)
She is good at helping other children find fun things to do, and keeping them out of trouble. She loves horses and wants to learn all she can about them and other animals.
Ashlee is drug, alcohol and smoke-free and has a Business Administration degree and has worked in retail establishments for several years. She is very good with children and infants and has helped Rich teach 5th & 6th Grade Sunday School for many years. She has passed several Police background checks and is trustworthy and reliable. Due to Ashlee's vision loss, she does not have a Drivers License. Growing up, Ashlee worked in her Mother's dog grooming shop/boarding kennel and on their horse ranch.
Ashlee's horse career started when she was 8 years old with her first leased pony. She had a variety of ponies while growing up before moving on to horses. She learned to ride Western Pleasure and Equitation, Saddle Seat and Hunt Seat Pleasure and Equitation, Trail class and Trail rides. She showed in 4-H for 9 years. She also showed Class A Breed shows and open horse shows.
Ashlee has been on numerous trail rides. She has raised and trained Morgans from foal to finished show horse. She enjoys every aspect of caring for a horse, such as stall cleaning, grooming, tacking up, equipment maintenance, etc. She has given riding lessons and always stresses that safety for rider and animal is very important.
She has worked with many breeds such as:
She is very good at housekeeping and yard work. From May thru September of 2009, she and one other person took care of the cleaning, laundry, vacuuming and bed making for six cabins as well as weeding around the Diamond T Guest Ranch.
Rich is drug, alcohol and smoke-free and has been in sales on and off for over thirty years. He enjoys working at church and for several years has:
Rich and Ashlee both enjoy helping people and like to see them having fun. They like working with children and love teaching about God. They have been homeschooling their children for more than seven years. Due to Ashlee's disability and her father becoming disabled when she was 3, the entire family is comfortable around people of any ability or disability. They have an indoor/outdoor cat, Tiger, who gets along well with people (even little kids) and is a good mouser.
